Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club:

Fujioka Haruhi won a scholarship to attend Ouran High, a school reserved for the rich and prestigious. Despite what other students may think of her, Haruhi cares little for physical appearances or the fact that she's a commoner. Unfortunately for Haruhi, her high school days took a turn when she stumbled upon the Host Club, a group of guys who use their specific traits and charms to entertain the women of Ouran High. Even worse was that Haruhi had accidentally broken an 8 million yen vase in the club. Unable to repay her debt with money, Haruhi found herself with no choice but to work for the Host Club, becoming a male host herself. Based on the manga by Hatori Bisco.

General Info:
Episodes; 26.
Language; Japanese with English subs, English dubbed. (yeah!)

Review:
Not only is this anime absolutely hilarious, it has a unique plot line for it's targeted audience. Normally with the words 'Host Club', you may assume something more.... explicit, but on the contrary it seems almost innocent. Haruhi is another one of those ignorant-to-their-own feelings characters, along with Hikaru and Tamaki as well.
I would like to point out that I have read the manga up to volume 12, which is past the ending to the anime, so I may unintentionally include an opinion based off of something that was not in the anime. You have been warned.
So the plot is basically poor girl in a rich kid school breaks an expensive vase, then has to work to make up for the money; Haruhi owes about $80,000 (according to manga). This club is a host club, made up of six men, and then Haruhi. The story is basically trying to keep Haruhi's true gender a secret, the activities and etcetera the club does, and the feelings the characters develop for each other.
Not all these feeling are romantic, either. The relationship between Mori and Hunny develops, along with the relationship between the twins (Hikaru and Kaoru). and also the how the relationship between Tamaki and Kyoya came to be. Then there is also the problems with Tamaki and his grandmother, and Kyoya and his father.
I would classify this, if anything, purely comedy with just the tiniest touch of romance and a dash of drama. The romance is hard to take seriously in the anime because it just is so ridiculous because of the characters personalities. The drama in this is also very light-hearted, though when I say it it sounds rather heavy. It's not - the whole comical aspect was really very well done, and there will never be an episode where you don't laugh! If you have not watched Host Club already, I definitely suggest you do so!

Must Watch Episodes;
-Episode 7: Where Hunny gets lost in Kyoya's family's artificial tropical water park.
-Episode 8: Tamaki finds out Haruhi has brontophobia. (Scene with Kyoya is my favourite!)
-Episode 16: "Operation Haruhi and Hikaru's first date!" The title says it all.
-Episode 17: Kyoya and Haruhi get stuck together in a 'commoner's shopping centre.
-Episode 26: I like this one simply because of the feelings unearthed.
(I liked A LOT of episodes)

Rating:
Truth be told, this is my all time favourite anime, and actually the one that got me into the whole anime thing. I freaking bought all 17 of the manga off of eBay I loved it so much! So of course, I have to give it 5 our of 5 stars. * * * * *
